1、 Performance level of U-shaped bolts and nuts

The performance Elo rating system of bolts and nuts for steel structure connection can be divided into more than 10 grades, including 3.6, 4.6, 4.8, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9 and 12.9. Among them, bolts and nuts of grade 8.8 and above are made of low-carbon alloy steel or medium carbon steel and heat treated (quenched and tempered), which are generally referred to as high-strength bolts, and others are generally referred to as ordinary bolts and nuts. The performance grade designation of bolts and nuts consists of two parts of numbers, each representing the nominal compressive strength value and yield ratio of the bolt material.

The general U-shaped bolt and nut is represented by "X.Y" for strength

X * 100=compressive strength of this bolt and nut

X * 100 * (Y/10)=tensile strength of this bolt and nut

2、 Thread mutual fit level:

The U-shaped mutual fit of threads refers to the size of looseness or tightness between threads, and the level of mutual fit is the combination of requirements for deviation and tolerance on internal inch threads.

For unified inch threads, there are three thread grades: 1A, 2A, and 3A，Class 1A and 1B, a particularly loose tolerance level table, which is applicable to the tolerance fit of internal and external threads. Class 2A and 2B are the most common thread tolerance level tables required for inch series mechanical fasteners.
